To get away from the chaos that has been the past year in Portland, I went with my partner out to Newport/Depoe Bay to get some salty air and take advantage of more budget friendly lodging prices due to the covidpocalypse. I decided to go to Yaquina Bay in Newport where my photography mentor used to live. I captured this scene thankful that despite a lot of setbacks, I still find inspiration to try and get the shot that conveys what I see and hope to inspire others.
I am a photographer (though in past years, have had critics say I am a picture taker since I'm almost all of my work with an iPhone until I can justify buying an LDSR camera when I am in a place to start stormchasing more often. After the covidpocalypse dies down, my goal is to end my hiatus for live art shows and start shows back up in Eugene, Oregon. Lately, I've been playing around with making a photograph not look like a photograph or edit in a way to show what my mind sees when taking a picture. My photography subject matter is primarily scenery/subject matter. I try to incorporate styles of other art forms into my photography and more recently adding graphic design elements.
