With the portrait mode on my camera, I had to be about six feet from the seagull. What was amazing is that it actually turned to look at me like it wanted its picture taken. I got about five feet away to get this picture. The way the sun hit made it look like the seagull was the main event like the lights on a lead singer at a concert.
I am a photographer (though in past years, have had critics say I am a picture taker since I'm almost all of my work with an iPhone until I can justify buying an LDSR camera when I am in a place to start stormchasing more often. After the covidpocalypse dies down, my goal is to end my hiatus for live art shows and start shows back up in Eugene, Oregon. Lately, I've been playing around with making a photograph not look like a photograph or edit in a way to show what my mind sees when taking a picture. My photography subject matter is primarily scenery/subject matter. I try to incorporate styles of other art forms into my photography and more recently adding graphic design elements.
