Artist's Description
One night, I walked from my place and went across the Interstate Bridge to Vancouver, Washington. The smoke/vapor from the manufacturing plant was illuminated by sodium lights. Another factory over there had a fire over it, to the right of what was creating the billowing plume. It is my commentary on our "industrial" way of life and how it pollutes the air (whether it is bad for the lungs or just obscuring how the sky is supposed to look). I did this photo with 10 second exposure on my iphone 11 camera.

I am a photographer (though in past years, have had critics say I am a picture taker since I'm almost all of my work with an iPhone until I can justify buying an LDSR camera when I am in a place to start stormchasing more often. After the covidpocalypse dies down, my goal is to end my hiatus for live art shows and start shows back up in Eugene, Oregon. Lately, I've been playing around with making a photograph not look like a photograph or edit in a way to show what my mind sees when taking a picture. My photography subject matter is primarily scenery/subject matter. I try to incorporate styles of other art forms into my photography and more recently adding graphic design elements. Most of my work is using an iPhone SE and now iPhone 11...
